This course focuses on creating a variety of individual floral cupcakes, each with its own character and charm—like a miniature garden in bloom. You’ll learn how to design cupcakes that go beyond single-flower piping, using composition techniques to introduce elevation, balance, and visual interest within a compact space.

In this course, you’ll work with variations of heart-shaped and teardrop petals, exploring how subtle changes in form and layering can create completely different floral effects. These techniques will help you gain control over both petal direction and structure—essential for designing compact, yet dynamic floral pieces.

You’ll work with three flowers that vary in shape, scale, and arrangement style:

  • Anemone – you’ll learn how to pipe heart-shaped petals with control and consistency, add natural texture, and properly layer the petals to achieve symmetry—skills that will lay the foundation for more complex floral work.

  • Stock – evolving from the anemone, this flower shows how heart-shaped petal variations can be adapted to create a textured, softly layered bloom. It carries a gentle sense of height and fullness, adding a natural lift and variation in form to your cupcake arrangement.

  • Hydrangea – made up of clusters of petite, four-petal blooms, hydrangea adds a charming, softly layered texture to your cupcake design. With its rounded shape and gentle fullness, it brings a lovely, gathered feel that complements larger flowers and adds interest through repetition and detail.

You’ll also learn how to mix large focal flowers with small accent blooms, and how to add elevation to your arrangements for greater visual impact and balance.
